Ganadores de los Country Music Association Awards 2012
Los premios de la Country Music Association 2012, celebrados el pasado día 1 de noviembre, tuvieron como gran triunfador a Blake Shelton, que se llevó tres premios. El primero compartido con su esposa, Miranda Lambert, como co-escritores del single “Over you”, una canción inspirada por el hermano mayor de Blake, que murió en un accidente de coche hace unos 20 años. También se llevó el premio al Mejor Vocalista Masculino del Año por tercer año consecutivo. El gran artista de Oklahoma dio la sorpresa al ganar el máximo premio de la noche como Mejor Artista del Año, superando a sus rivales en la carrera, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney y Taylor Swift.
Las palabras de Blake Shelton fueron honestas y sencillas: “Trato de representar la música country lo mejor que puedo con todo lo que hago, en televisión, en giras y en un montón de cosas. Me encanta la música country más que nadie en esta sala».
Miranda Lambert compartió la miel del éxito con su marido por el éxito de su cación conjunta, “Over you”, ganadora como Mejor Canción del Año.
Little Big Town lograron sus primeras victorias como Mejor Single del Año por su canción «Pontoon«, y como Mejor Grupo Vocal del Año. Una sorpresa porque vienen a destronar por primera vez en cuatro años a Lady Antebellum.
La revolución de la noche continuó porque Thompson Square también han sustituido a los habituales ganadores de los últimos años. Keifer Thompson y Shawna obtuvieron su primer trofeo CMA en la categoría de Mejor Dúo del Año, arrebatándoselo a Sugarland, que lo han ganado durante los últimos cinco años.
El segundo premio más importante, Mejor Álbum del Año, fue para otro recién llegado como Eric Church, muy aclamado por la crítica.
El mundo de la música country rindió tributo al cantautor Willie Nelson, de 79 años, y su brillante carrera, con el premio a toda una vida. Nelson interpretó esa canción clásica maravillosa de 1980 que es «On the Road Again«, y Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Faith Hill y Tim McGraw le hicieron los honores interpretando un medley de sus canciones «You are always on my mind«, «Crazy» «Whiskey River» y «Good Hearted Woman» (¡no se pierdan el vídeo!).
También se aprovechó la gala para recaudar fondos y donarlos a la Cruz Roja, destinados a los damnificados por el huracán Sandy.
De nuevo la gala de los premios de la CMA demostró que la música country sigue con una fuerza creativa impresionante, renovando sus artistas con una calidad y talento difíciles de encontrar e igualar en otros géneros. Las actuaciones y las nuevas canciones volvieron a poner de relieve por qué la música country sigue siendo la más popular.
