El Cowboy Hall of Fame en Oklahoma City reúne a los más grandes iconos de la cultura vaquera y del oeste americano, tales como John Wayne y Clint Eastwood, entre otros muchos referentes. Por eso es justo que entren aquellas personalidades que más han hecho por la cultura western.
Una leyenda como Rusty Richards, un cowboy real de 82 años, de Modjeska Canyon, será la próxima incorporación al Hall of Fame más respetado. Rusty, un vaquero campeón de rodeo, marine y cantante de canciones western, empezó su carrera musical en un programa de televisión propio de 15 minutos denominado “Song Trails with Rusty Richards”.
Rusty ha participado en series legendarias como “Gunsmoke” “Bonanza” y “How the West Was Won”. Su carrera musical incluye algunos trabajos con los célebres “The sons of the pioneers”, que ya están también en el Cowboy Hall of Fame.
Dos talentos inimitables como son Tommy Lee Jones y Wynonna Judd serán los encargados de presentar el premio a Rusty Richards en el National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, el cual alberga el Cowboy Hall of Fame.
Rusty Richards ha recibido el Premio A. Reynolds Chester, que rinde homenaje a quienes perpetúan el legado de la cultura del oeste de Estados Unidos a través del trabajo de cowboy y su firme compromiso con los ideales y valores western a lo largo de la vida. El «Wrangler» es una escultura de bronce de un vaquero a caballo. El nombre de Rusty Richards queda inscrito en el Cowboy Hall of Fame. Un honor como quedan pocos actualmente.

The fair, held at the Silverado Community Center, is expected to draw hundreds and kicks off Saturday with an unparade of historical characters at 9 a.m.
There will also be live music and a reenactment put on by the Lawdogs NLadies that promises some Wild West thrills. Highlights include the Silverado Characters who are known to rob local stores. The Wild West town consists of stage decor, Silverado Jail, blacksmith, saloon, wagon and a musician’s camp tent. Heres whats on tap: Lawdogs N’ Ladies, a 28-person Tombstone reenactment troupe, will perform 1-2 p.m. Saturday, following a performance by Rusty Richards, the last remaining member of the Sons of the Pioneers at noon. The Oozie Blues play at 2 p.m. A Saturday night concert will feature Three Blind Mice and The Mike Reilly Band.
