El próximo 5 de abril se celebra la edición 44ª de los Premios de la Academia de Música Country (ACM), que tendrá lugar en el MGM Grand Garden Arena de Las Vegas, transmitida a todo el mundo a través de la cadena de televisión CBS.
Reba McEntire, una de las grandes estrellas de la música country, será un año más la presentadora y anfitriona del acto. El día 6 se celebrará una ceremonia en la que se entregará a George Strait el premio al Artista de la Década.
Estos premios de la Academia pretenden reconocer el trabajo de todos cuantos participan en la música country: cantantes, productores, letristas, músicos, locutores de radio, directores de videos musicales, etc.
La Academy Of Country Music (ACM) fue creada en 1964 en Los Angeles (California) como Country & Western Music Academy. Por su parte, la Country Music Asssociation fue creada en Nashville en 1958.
